1) Compare this bike. Call around and read off the parts spec of this bike and ask other stores their price on a similar bike. They will tell you at least $2,000.

Compare to the 2008 Trek 2.3 which lists for $1700. The Sprint is $800 less and has higher level front derailleur and higher level wheels with precision bearings.

2) Make sure you get current name brand parts. Other $995.95 bikes are either last years 9 spd bikes or lower level with heavier and lower quality Sora/Tiagra or Tiagra+105 bikes with heavy entry-level wheels and parts and will NOT have carbon fiber seatstays.

3) Does their bike have Ultegra 30 speed shifters? Before you buy someone elses bike, make sure it has: Shimano Ultegra 30 speed parts all around including an Truvativ Elita External GXP Crank/BB and Shimano cassette, Carbon seatstays, Veulta XRP wheelset, Aluminum brake calipers and Ritchey parts. Watch out for other bikes that substitute lower level Gossamer cranks and heavier, lower level Alex R450 wheels.
