Got the old "Filet Mignon
Taste On A Hamburger Budget" blues? This bike is the
cure. Although it uses 7005 butted aluminum instead of
X-Fusion tubing, the Diamond Lite 2 features frame geometry
and rear suspension pivot placement identical to its
higher-priced, Diamond-series siblings. You'll also enjoy
9-speed shifting, air shock rear suspension and Avid
linear-pull brakes, just like the Diamond Super Lite (but just
a whisker less light-okay, a handful of whiskers)
And the Diamond Lite 2 has something you can't get from those
snooty, uptown rigs: Up to 100mm of front suspension travel
from the coil/air RockShox Air Judy SL fork. Hook that up
with the Fuji's optional Twin Technology linkage for 4.3
inches of rear travel and you'll be Queen (or King) of
Cross-Country Cushiness.
Keep the Diamond Lite 2 the way it is forever or start
dabbling with upgrades. The frame and fork are disc brake
compatible if your desires are more Diamond Lite 3ish than
Diamond Super Lite. But leave the rear suspension pivot alone.
It's the same sealed bearing type as the top-of-the-line
bikes, so your rear wheel always goes squoosh-squoosh, not
wibble-wobble, over bumps.
With the money you save, treat yourself to a good pair of
shoes that latch onto your Wellgo clipless pedals.
